Company officially changes name after 2008 acquisition

In February 2008, right after acquiring Portland-based security systems integration company Selectron, Aronson Security Group (ASG) announced that it was forming what the company called a "convergence" business unit. Now, a little over a year after that acquisition, Selectron has been officially renamed as Aronson Security Group. Along with the name change, which was announced during ASG's annual "security summit", the company announced that Robert Flynn has been named senior vice president of operations. Flynn previously was the general manager of Selectron prior to the acquisition.

According to ASG, the acquisition of Selectron made ASG the largest independent integrator in the Pacific Northwest and placed them among the top 10 largest independent system integration firms in North America.

“We originally acquired Selectron because of the close alignment with our corporate values around the market and the client, our corporate culture of integrity and accountability, and our vision to continue to be an innovator in driving strategic value to our clients”, said Phil Aronson, CEO of ASG, announcing the name change during the ASG summit. “The alignment allowed us to quickly integrate core operational processes into a highly efficient engine for corporate growth and allowed us to expand our services to our existing client base.”
