DOYLESTOWN, Pa. , March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Acuity Systems, Inc. has named Glenn C. Waehner President and CEO. Waehner is leading the corporation towards expanded horizons and a more comprehensive vision for a profitable future. Waehner states, "The security system market is undergoing a major transition from analog to digital network technology. The early adopters missed critical performance and feature needs, resulting in disappointed customers. Acuity has the time-proven knowledge and experience to create a third-generation hybrid system architecture that delivers the needed system performance and integrates new features and analytic tools seamlessly into mid-range to enterprise-class systems."

The company has three main corporate locations: the Sales and Training facility, located at the Doylestown Commerce Center, Doylestown, Pennsylvania ; the Engineering and Operations Center facility located in New Windsor, New York ; and Engineering in Pt. Pleasant, New Jersey .

Mr. Waehner brings his expertise in industry and high technology to Acuity Systems, Inc. His education experience includes a BES in Electrical Engineering and in Physics from John Hopkins University and an MSEE and a PEE in Electrical Engineering from New York University. His career spans Video Systems research and development at United Technologies, where his work was integral to the F111D, A6E, and B52 operational programs, and instrumental contribution in the development of the Avionics Display program for the US Space Shuttle. During this time, Mr. Waehner authored over 30 patents.

As VP and General Manager of Canberra Industries, a manufacturer of Nuclear Instruments, Mr. Waehner increased sales and profits threefold, and this led to his appointment as President of American Dynamics in 1985. Although AD was sold in 1996, the company name and product lines are still respected in the CCTV industry as a result of Mr. Waehner's influence. As of 1996, Mr. Waehner joined the Pelco team and together with his colleagues from the former American Dynamics created industry-leading products.

Mr. Waehner will now focus all of his comprehensive skill and experience to create the next generation of enterprise, hybrid network systems that combine HD digital video, video analytics, and asset management technology.
