Homeland Security & Defense Business Council Elects Frank P. Pugliese, Jr. Chairman of the Board of Directors

WASHINGTON , Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Homeland Security & Defense Business Council yesterday elected Frank P. Pugliese, Jr. Chairman of the Council's Board of Directors for 2009. "The Council is fortunate to have Frank as Chairman -- he was a founding member of the Council and represents a member company that produces numerous products and services in the homeland security market. His vision and commitment to the Council has played a large part in the HS&DBC's continued growth and success," said President & CEO of the Council Marc Pearl.

Chairman Pugliese, Managing Director of DuPont Government Business Development, is the former commissioner for the General Services Administration (GSA) where he spent his career focused on performance and operations improvement. During his 28-year tenure with the GSA, his efforts received numerous citations for contributing to better government through deficit reduction and cost-effectiveness. In 1998, he received GSA's Distinguished Service Award, the agency's most prestigious award, followed by the 1999 Presidential Rank Award for Distinguished Executive. He retired from the GSA in 2000.

New to the board is Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's Linda Keene Solomon , a Principal at Deloitte Consulting, filling the seat of Greg Pellegino , also of Deloitte and founding chairman of the Council. In her role as Account Partner for the Department of Homeland Security, Linda has been directly responsible for delivering numerous security-related technology solutions to DHS. She is also Managing Director, office operations for Deloitte's Federal Practice.
