Event's growth led by strong uptick in surveillance, access control

January 29, 2009 - The Electronic Security Expo has announced significant growth data for its 2009 event, taking place June 22 - 26, 2009 in Baltimore. With roughly six months remaining to show time, contracted exhibit space for ESX 2009 has surpassed last year's final total and is running 73% ahead of year-to-date comparisons with the 2008 event.

Leading the way in growth are the video surveillance and access control product categories which are both better than double in number of exhibitors and space booked vs. 2008. Industry leading manufacturers such as Axis Communications, Brivo, Panasonic, Rainbow CCTV, SAMSUNG | GVI Security and Videolarm are all new to the event.

"Manufacturers and distributors are responding to ESX's pure focus on integration and monitoring companies," said Ed Bonifas, vice president of marketing for Alarm Detection Systems of Aurora, IL and chairman of the ESX Sales Working Group. "Our analysis points to three key factors:

1) They understand that ESX attendees have broad product involvement in video surveillance and access control along with intrusion and fire detection and central station technologies and that they are power buyers with an average annual spend of nearly $400,000 in video and $200,000+ in access control.
2) Suppliers recognize that the event is poised for strong growth in attendance with a larger show floor, an expanded line-up of excellent seminars, an awesome schedule of special networking and recognition events and a very fun and affordable destination city in Baltimore.
3) Finally, they see the cost effective nature of this event resulting from its sharp focus, its more intimate relationship-oriented feel and its location in a city where labor-rates, travel, entertainment and other exhibiting expenses are substantially less than alternatives at other trade shows."
