JusticeXchange(R) Shows Continued Growth in 2008

LOUISVILLE, Ky. , Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Law enforcement agencies continue to find new ways to use JusticeXchange in their efforts to solve crimes and put offenders in jail. The integrated justice solution provides criminal justice officials with an instant, up-to-date database of booking records, warrants, and other data from thousands of agencies across the country.

Launched six years ago, JusticeXchange is currently being used by agencies in 16 states to locate wanted sex offenders, probation and parole violators, assist agencies in serving warrants, and arrest those involved in other crimes such as illegal drugs, robbery, and murder.

There are approximately 36 million booking records on file in JusticeXchange. In addition, there has been a significant increase in the amount of data collected:

Several new agencies began using JusticeXchange in 2008 including the Indiana Department of Homeland Security-Fusion Center, Iowa Department of Public Safety, New York Department of Homeland Security Immigration & Customs Enforcement, US Fish & Wildlife, and Virginia Department of Homeland Security Immigration & Customs Enforcement.
