Ken Aubrey , CEO of Image Sensing Systems, Inc., stated, "Our record of introducing technologically advanced products for the ITS market continues with the G4 RTMS. We are pleased with the G4's performance and accuracy and we are confident in our abilities to provide both radar and video based solutions to ITS customers."

The fourth generation RTMS leverages 18 years of experience and over 20,000 deployed RTMS units to offer industry-leading accuracy. An automatic lane calibration program ensures a fast and streamlined set-up process for transportation management customers. In this installation, Caltrans opted for solar power in the majority of the units as well as wireless communications for quick deployment, remote monitoring capabilities and high reliability. This solar power option is only practical due to the G4's industry-leading low power consumption.

Dan Manor , Managing Director of Image Sensing Systems Canada Ltd., formerly EIS, said, "The fourth generation RTMS with its unprecedented accuracy, reliability and other unique customer benefits involved significant development. Although more than 500 RTMS radars have been operating in California for many years, we are proud to have our first major G4 installation be on one of California's busiest highways. Its timely delivery was made possible through the dedication of our development team."

The G4 RTMS system provides traffic volumes, speed, occupancy and classification on California's Interstate 5 and Highway 205 allowing Caltrans to better manage traffic. Improved traffic flow not only aids drivers, it provides a significant benefit to the environment, reducing idling time and therefore decreasing emissions and fuel consumption.
