GE Security on Track for Revenue Growth, Says CEO Parker

    Company's R&D focusing on automation of security processes to create sales growth in coming years

    GE Security's Louis Parker told Reuters on Tuesday that the company's division is increasing its sales by incorporating automation into security.

    Parker, the CEO of GE Security, also told the media organization that the security division was on track for $2 billion in sales for 2006, a number he predicted would increase to $2.8 billion by 2009.

    The company is reportedly working on a computer-based solution for CCTV automation that would apply video analytics to thousands of cameras' video feeds at a time. The automated video monitoring solution, while still in R&D, is being tested in the entrance to the company's Global Research Center in Niskayuna, N.Y.
