April 18, 2005

The Rittman school district will break ground on an addition to West Hill Elementary at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The school will close at the end of this school year to allow for the construction of the addition that will double the size of the 30,000-square-foot building.

Construction is to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2006-07 school year, when the school will reopen as a kindergarten through fourth grade building. Currently, it houses kindergarten through second grades.

During this coming school year, kindergarten through second grades will be at North Street Elementary.
