Alexandria, VA - ASIS International (ASIS), the preeminent organization for security management professionals worldwide, today announced plans to make the 52nd Annual Seminar and Exhibits -- being held Sept. 25-28, 2006 in San Diego, Calif. -- its most powerful event ever, with increased educational and networking opportunities and exhibits that encompass the latest security technology and innovation.

Already recognized as the world's largest show dedicated to security, ASIS 2006 promises to be the best educational opportunity in the industry as well, offering over 150 high-quality, insightful education sessions of interest and importance to security practitioners of all experience levels. All sessions have been peer-reviewed and selected from a field of entries in the most highly competitive submission process in ASIS history.

Sessions will cover the gamut of emerging issues and topics crucial to today's security management professionals -- from counterterrorism and enterprise security to loss prevention and crisis management, to infrastructure protection and much more. In each session, industry experts will relate their real-world experiences, triumphs and lessons learned and share their views on the political, social and technological trends that are redefining the security industry.

ASIS 2006 will also bring together more than 20,000 security professionals from around the world and across the industry, creating a unique networking opportunity -- in educational sessions, after-hours events such as the President's Reception and on the tradeshow floor -- for the exchange of ideas, information and experiences.

"As an organization dedicated to advancing security worldwide, we are delighted to offer an event this exciting and important to the future of the industry," said Jeff Spivey, CPP, PSP, 2006 ASIS President. "Every aspect of the Seminar and Exhibits is geared toward increasing security professionals' knowledge and understanding of the trends and technologies that will affect their practice. That it can be this enjoyable is a bonus."

Prominent keynote addresses from former CIA director George J. Tenet, and Bob Dole, the former Senate Majority Leader and a recognized war hero, will serve as highlights of the ASIS program.

Director Tenet led our nation's intelligence community from 1997 through 2004, one of the most crisis-filled eras in modern U.S. history. His keynote address is expected to provide an insider's perspective of today's global security issues and insight into what the future holds for our nation, its allies, and our global interests.

Senator Dole will speak on "Leadership and Values in the 21st Century," and will share examples of the wisdom, candor and leadership that have distinguished his remarkable career in military and public service, as well as his work today in the private sector.

In addition, widely acclaimed television health correspondent Dr. Bob Arnot will lead a panel of medical, public health and security experts in a discussion on Avian Flu as part of the Seminar's Security Insights program. Dr. Arnot's considerable knowledge as a physician and experience as a foreign correspondent ensure that the panel's discussion of the potential long reaching effects of this impending health crisis will be as informative and lively as it is timely.

Veteran comedian Bob Newhart will close the ASIS 2006 program by sharing some of his world-renowned humor during a lunchtime presentation on September 28th.

The ASIS Seminar and Exhibits was recognized in 2005 by Tradeshow Week as one of the 50 fastest growing tradeshows in the U.S. and Canada. This year's show -- boasting more than 270,000 square feet of the latest security technology and innovations -- promises to be the most dynamic event yet, providing a forum for more than 870 companies to demonstrate the cutting-edge security products and services that are shaping the industry today. Exhibit attendees will be able to find solutions, and to talk to top product experts, service providers and manufacturers to address all of their security needs. Plus, admission to the exhibits is FREE.
