Security Growth Conference Captures Momentum of Industry Investment

Feb. 21, 2007
Conference brings together investment banking, legal services and commercial finance for security businesses

February 8, 2007 - SANTA MONICA, CALIF. — The Security Growth Conference, an event that has earned the reputation as the premier source for middle-market business opportunities in the dynamic security market, will be held March 6-7 at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif.

Hosted by USBX Advisory Services, LLC; Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, LLP; and CapitalSource; three leading companies in their respective investment banking, corporate legal services and commercial finance markets, the event brings together CEOs and senior executives of the top independent security companies with senior executives of the largest global security companies, along with members of the financial community. Presenting companies provide products and services in three distinct sectors: Physical Security, Identity Solutions and IT Security.

For the first time, Security Growth Conference's program will incorporate the Enterprise Network Security sector and companies that focus on the IT security integration, consulting and vulnerability assessment markets to reflect the importance of this segment as part of the double-digit growth predicted for the $150 billion security sector.

"This year's Security Growth Conference is being held at a time of unprecedented interest in the electronic security market by the investment community," said John E. Mack III, CEO of USBX Advisory Services, LLC and a founder of the event.

"The current momentum being experienced by the security industry, combined with a first-rate line up of presenting companies, will make this year's event truly exceptional," according to event founder Lessing E. Gold, Partner and Chair, Corporate Department, Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp.

Through an expanded multi-track program, attendees will hear 30-minute presentations from 50 leading middle-market security companies whose CEOs will discuss their business models, product development and success strategies. In addition, the conference is the perfect forum for high-level networking with leading security companies and other market leaders. Past presenters include such firms as systems integrator Red Hawk, purchased last fall by United Technologies Corp.; Intergraph, the subject of a $1.3-billion private equity acquisition by Hellman & Friedman and Texas Pacific Group; and other firms such as Datacard Group and Imprivata.

"This is a premier event that brings together many leaders within the security industry and we are excited to be a partner of the event for the first time," added Bill Polk, Managing Director of CapitalSource's Security Lending Group.

Making an encore performance as the event's keynote speaker is Frank Abagnale, one of the world's most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents and the real-life subject of the motion picture, "Catch Me If You Can," based on his best-selling book. Other featured keynote speakers include Juan Vallejo, appointed President and CEO of Securitas Systems Worldwide in 2006, and Brett Bontrager, President of Convergent Security for Stanley Security Solutions, head of the team responsible for Stanley's $545 million acquisition of HSM Electronic Protection from GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC in January.

A white paper compiled by USBX analysts detailing the rapid growth in the video surveillance markets will be available at the event. This comprehensive resource explores current market drivers in the video market, and details the explosion in IP video hardware and the growing traction of intelligent video technology as part of today's IP video solutions. Copies of the USBX Security Industry Year-End report will also be available.
