Expo Seguridad Mexico 2006 Scheduled for April 2006

Dec. 22, 2005
Expo Seguridad Mexico brings together end-users, integrators, dealers and manufacturers for training and new technologies

Plans are now in place for Expo Seguridad Mexico 2006 conference and trade show, which will be held April 26-28, 2006 at Centro Banamex in Mexico City.

Close proximity to the United States and almost non-existent trade barriers are just two reasons why the security industry in Mexico offers great potential for companies seeking new markets for growth. Most manufacturers selling in Mexico are experiencing double-digit growth. Mexican imports for intrusion, access control, CCTV, EAS, trace detection and fire systems are estimated to exceed US $250 million in 2006.

"With Mexico boasting the largest electronic security market in Latin America, Expo Seguridad Mexico is the perfect venue to capitalize on this exciting opportunity," said Andrea Ferrando, the show's sales & marketing director. "The show consistently draws important decision makers in the public and private sectors and generates tremendous leads and referrals for exhibitors."

The theme of this year's convention is "Convergence, Where IT and the Security Sector Meet."

The "Convergence" theme will center on a pavilion, sponsored by Anixter Mexico in the middle of the Exhibition hall. Exhibitors will showcase their cutting edge "IT-centric" Security solutions including IP based Intrusion, access control, CCTV, GPS, fire intrusion systems, RFID, and software Integration platforms. It will also cover authentication technologies such as smart cards, smart chips, access cards, USB tokens, one-time password tokens and biometric technologies.

"Most large end-user companies are calling for new security designs that integrate IT with all types of security," added Ferrando. "In fact, Forrester Research predicts over $11 billion of spending in 2008 on specific "security convergence" projects."

In addition to the exhibits and pavilion, ALAS will offer a number of certification classes which include CCTV, Intrusion and Fire, as well as more than 50 educational conferences about the Electronic Security Industry.

Expo Seguridad Mexico 2006 is organized by Giprex, endorsed by ALAS (Latin American Security Association), CABA, CANASA, CSAA, Smart Card Alliance Association SIA and several local associations. It is also sponsored by four prominent security distributors in Mexico. Expo Seguridad is also rapidly becoming an event with International appeal as evidenced by attendance from 18 countries, including many in Central America and the Caribbean: Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, Dominican Republic.

Expo Seguridad Mexico started in 2003. Last year's convention included 130 exhibitors and over 4,500 attendees, which is expected to increase by at least 30% in 2006.

"For the past three years we have been able to unify the security industry in Mexico, and deliver the best ROI event to our exhibitors and attendees," said Ferrando. "Expo Seguridad Mexico 2006 promises to be an important business opportunity and it's never too late for companies to get in the market. We have an extensive network of contacts and can introduce exhibitors to key local players. We even offer exhibitor packages that include a bilingual host."

Exhibitors already registered for Expo Seguridad Mexico 2006 include Andover Controls, Bosch, DSC, GE Security, Honeywell, HID, Indala, Infinova, Johnson Controls, Lenel, Panasonic, Pelco, Rainbow, RCI, Samsung, Scan Source, Tamron, Tyco, Vicon, and many more.

"Each year we have seen the trade show grow and Pelco has received more attendees in our booth. Pelco will be an exhibitor at Expo Seguridad in 2006, and for many years to come," said Alex Mathieson, Pelco's international business development manager.
