Christiansburg, Va. - Force Optical Broadcast Systems has hired Roberto Alcalde as Regional Sales Manager for the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. Roberto brings more than 20 years experience in the telecom industry to the Force sales team.
Alcade has worked in the telecom industry as a field engineer, project manager, sales engineer, senior manager, and owner/entrepreneur of a telecom services company. After earning his MBA, Roberto became a program manager for the Harris Corporation, which later led to a product marketing manager position with Harris Corp. in Latin America. From there, Roberto became the Director of Professional Services for UTSTARCOM's CALA where he grew the CALA office to over 60 people. In this position, Roberto managed a wireless infrastructure project that increased the tele-density of Haiti by over 100%. Roberto moved on to become a key component in the formation and start-up of a Colombia based telecom services company, which had grown to over three million dollars in sales by 2004. His expertise and experience have allowed the Force sales team to expand into the Latin American and Caribbean region.
