The Security Industry Association (SIA) has appointed John Stroia, vice president of corporate development for Diebold, Inc., to the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) Board of Directors. Stroia currently serves as the Secretary on SIA's Board of Directors.
The position was previously held by Charlie Darsh, director of corporate relations for System Sensor, a division of Honeywell. Darsch's career in the security industry began as a sales engineer for Pollak Corp. in Dorchester, MA after serving in the US Army and US Army Reserve Military Police. In 1959 Darsch formed Minuteman Security, an alarm installing company. In the early 1970's, he took a position with Advisor Security.
In his impressive career, Darsch has worked in varying capacities for Aritech Corp, ADT, Sentrol and later Systems Sensor. He has led and participated on many industry committees that led to many significant accomplishments for the industry.
Darsch is a past president of SIA, as well as a past recipient of SIA's George R. Lippert Memorial Award. He holds the distinction of being the first vendor recipient of NBFAA's Weinstock Award.
"Charlie Darsch has been a dedicated supporter of SIAC since its inception, and we can't thank him enough for his service, contributions and commitment," said Jay Hauhn, Chairman of SIA's Board of Directors. "His sage advice will be sorely missed."

SIAC is comprised of four major North American security associations -- the Canadian Security Association (CANASA), the Security Industry Association (SIA), the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), and the Electronic Security Association (ESA) -- representing one voice for the alarm industry on alarm management issues.
SIA supports SIAC's mission to significantly reduce calls for service while strengthening the lines of communication with law enforcement professionals and end users.
