The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently published the fourth revision of its computer security guide, which is better known to the federal computer and contractor community as "SP (Special Publication) 800-53." According to a statement, the revision has been adapted to address the evolution of technology, as well as the threat landscape. It also takes a more holistic approach to information security and risk management.
