In a move that will effectively double its customer base in Arizona, SAFE Security announced on Wednesday that they have acquired Scottsdale-based Safeguard Security and Communications. In an interview with SIW, SAFE President and CEO Paul Sargenti described Safeguard as one of the top three super-regional alarm dealers in the country and said they found them to be an attractive acquisition target based on their growth model. Sargenti said there are also a number of synergies between the two firms and that there will be some movement of business functions between both SAFE and Safeguard. Safeguard will be retaining its large commercial construction and QuickPass businesses.
