Databarracks has acquired the assets of Acumen Business Services Ltd. as it continues to expand its business resilience managed services portfolio.
Databarracks has acquired the assets of Acumen Business Services Ltd., continuing its investment in Business Resilience Managed Services and its strategy of bringing together business and technology resilience.
The acquisition follows Databarracks' earlier purchase of PlanB Consulting and supports the company's unified approach to business and technology resilience.
Acumen was founded by Andy Osborne, who has spent more than 20 years delivering business continuity consulting services. The company serves more than 100 clients across the financial services, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.
Chris Butler, resilience director at Databarracks, said Acumen has delivered business continuity and resilience services to large organizations in the UK and internationally. He said both companies share a vision of making business continuity practical while embedding resilience into organizations. Butler added that Databarracks plans to provide additional value to Acumen's customers through its Recovery Confidence assurance concepts and Business Resilience Managed Service approach.
Andy Osborne said technology and cyber risk have become central to business continuity and described the acquisition as the next step for Acumen and its clients. He said the combination brings together Acumen's business continuity expertise with Databarracks' business and technology resilience and recovery capabilities.
Mike Osborne, chairman of Databarracks, said he has known Acumen for many years and praised the company's long-standing work in the industry as well as Andy Osborne's contributions through publications and knowledge sharing.
He said Databarracks' Business Resilience function has grown rapidly following its acquisition of PlanB Consulting in 2024. According to Osborne, the company's managed service approach has received a strong response as organizations adapt to changing risks. He added that Databarracks is continuing to hire resilience professionals to support growing demand for its next-generation resilience solutions and customer base.
