Every year, Security Business solicits integrators and consultants to tell us about their community and charity efforts. While the companies that submit their stories represent just a small portion of the good work our industry does for the community, it is our hope that reading these stories will inspire even more companies to devote time, funding, and resources to support similar efforts across the country.
Here’s how some of your fellow integrators and consultants gave back in 2025:
The Advantech team joined forces with a customer, The Modern Maturity Center, as well as with Meals on Wheels, to deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors across Dover, Del. They also laced up their sneakers for Relay for Life, raising funds and awareness for cancer research. The team walked in honor of one of its own employees who had been affected by cancer this year. Additionally, employees spent a September morning picking up litter along White Oak Road as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program. “Community isn’t just where we work, it’s who we are,” says Advantech District Director Dave Sweeney. “Our employees take immense pride in supporting the people and neighborhoods that surround us, and 2025 has been quite a year of meaningful outreach and service in Dover, Delaware.”
Allstate Security Industries was awarded a local philanthropy award for an access control, security, and monitoring system that their team donated and installed a few years ago at the Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo. “We decided to do something else for them,” explains company president and CEO Randall Renfroe. “We redid a vacant area above their gym and made it into a ‘Teen Hype Room’ – where kids can come and play games that normally don't have access to because their family can't afford a gaming system.” The room opened to the public in August, and Renfroe says it was a huge hit.
Brady Integrated Security, headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, continues to advance its purpose of caring for each other, our customers, and our communities. For more than ten years, Brady has maintained a strong partnership with Habitat for Humanity, supporting the mission of providing affordable homeownership opportunities for families in need. In addition, the company remains an active supporter of Camp Carefree, the Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, and both the Greensboro and Raleigh Chambers of Commerce, reflecting Brady’s ongoing dedication to community engagement and regional development.
Through the Convergint Cares program, colleagues around the world give their time, talent, and resources to create lasting impact where it matters most. Each year, this commitment comes to life on Convergint Social Responsibility Day, when the company pauses operations globally to serve local communities. In 2025, under the theme “A World of Promise,” nearly 11,000 colleagues, family members, and partners volunteered with 174 organizations in 37 countries worldwide, contributing more than $4M in labor and materials. From upgrading school security systems through Convergint’s STEP Up for Schools initiative, to supporting food banks, environmental restoration, and vulnerable populations, Social Responsibility Day reflects the company’s Values and Beliefs in action, and our shared commitment to building a safer, stronger world together. “Service is at the heart of who we are, woven into our culture, our communities, and the way we do business,” says VP of Global Marketing Shannon Symalla.
Custom Alarm remains dedicated to making a positive impact through volunteerism and community support throughout the year, as team members volunteered 450-plus hours with more than 15 local organizations. Highlights from the year include maintaining a local Adopt-a-Highway location, volunteering at a local Channel One Food Bank, supporting law enforcement and first responders through Safe City Nights, Night to Unite, and the company’s annual Month of Thanks. Employees also cooked and served meals for families at the Ronald McDonald House and participated in Adopt-a-Family during the holidays to support children battling cancer.
In 2025, EMC Security launched the Stronger and Safer Communities Foundation with $500,000 designated to fund local charities to make neighborhoods safer and stronger. The Foundation focuses on four key areas: safer communities and safer schools, supporting first responders, crime victim assistance, and crime reduction resources and technologies. Since its launch, we have awarded grants to more than a dozen organizations, including Friends of Roswell Police, which directed our support to the family of fallen officer Jeremy Labonte, and the Apalachee Mental Health Fund, which provided mental health trauma support for victims of the Apalachee High School shooting. Beyond financial support, our team also rolled up our sleeves for Security Industry Community Service Day, volunteering at the Georgia Mountain Food Bank to assemble summer “kid boxes” filled with nutritious food for children facing food insecurity when schools close for the summer.
This year, Everon worked with the Initiative for Affordable Housing’s re:loom program to upcycle retired uniforms into a unique line of tote bags. The Atlanta-based nonprofit organization provides services, housing, and employment for area residents in need or experiencing homelessness. While establishing Everon as a standalone organization after separating from its former parent company in 2023, rebranding efforts brought attention to an inventory of unused work uniforms branded with the previous company logo. This provided an opportunity for Everon to upcycle the retired uniforms in partnership with the nonprofit. The tote bags are now shared as promotional giveaways for Everon at tradeshows and events – helping tell a story of how intentional partnership can support a greater, community-focused mission. Additionally, during Everon’s 2025 Annual Leadership Meeting earlier this year, its leaders came together to support youth in the Dallas community by packing 1,200 hygiene kits for donation to the Community Partners of Dallas to help local teenagers in need.
This year, First Response Security partnered with the local non-profit WakeUp Beaverton to support families and educators in need for the 2025-2026 school year. Through a companywide Backpack Stuff-A-Thon, its team came together to fill 100 backpacks with essential school supplies for local students and teachers, reinforcing their dedication to giving back and strengthening community connections. “At First Response Security, generosity is one of our core values, driving our commitment to philanthropy, community service, and employee care,” says company president Jesse Foglio. “We believe that true success extends beyond protecting people and property to making a lasting impact in the communities we serve.”
GC&E Systems Group participates in several annual charity events. “Our culture since the company was founded has been about giving back to the community, and in particular, our war fighters and first responders,” explains GC&E’s Director of Commercial Business Rob Hile. “When I joined the company years ago, one of the goals given to me by our founder was to join the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and make a difference. I am very blessed to work for a company and a great boss, Mr. Dennis Bristol, who allows me to donate hundreds of hours working for the good of the community.” Hile says he helps run several charity golf events that generate donations for area STEM organizations in the form of scholarships to promote cyber outreach and cyber education in the Tampa Bay region.
Guardian Protection employees raised $5,210 for UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and Guardian team members were invited to present the check on-air during the live television broadcast of the 71st Annual KDKA Free Care Fund Telethon on CBS Pittsburgh. Guardian employees have raised more than $25,000 for UPMC Children’s Hospital since they began the effort in 2019. Additionally, employees raised $2,500 to cover the cost of an adaptive bike for five-year-old Tenley Price, who has cerebral palsy. The presentation of the bike was done in conjunction with Variety the Children’s Charity, with whom Guardian has had a partnership for more than 10 years.
Integrated Protection Services raised more than $1,300 for the #ClearTheList program to help 12 teachers check items off their classroom wish lists. The teachers worked at customer schools or were nominated by a team member. Employees also collected pantry staples and personal care items to help stock a food pantry in each regional office area (Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, Lexington, Ky., and Nashville). Every year, IPS also participates in its own “Split the Pot” program to benefit a charity nominated by an employee. Last year, it supported the Dragonfly Foundation, which aids families facing pediatric cancer.
Kimberlite, an independent Sonitrol Franchise, gave back in many ways in 2025, including a backpack drive, food drives, and its annual Law Enforcement Appreciation push in January. At ‘Christmas Santa for a Day,’ they sponsored all the Pre-K and K classes in a school, where employees distribute gifts to underprivileged kids with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves. Last year, the company helped sponsor and participate in Delano National Night Out’s Trunk or Treat, where employees dressed up as Toy Story characters to help provide a safe Halloween and community event for more than 5,000 local kids.
KMT Systems was especially proud to serve Thanksgiving dinner to the children at A Friend’s House, a nonprofit supporting abused and neglected youth. Its team came together to serve and spend the day with the kids, creating a true family atmosphere where even Santa made a surprise appearance to bring extra joy to their day. In addition, KMT supported the Taste of Henry fundraiser benefiting the same organization, volunteered with local builder associations, and continued their commitment to helping others feel safe and connected. “For us, protecting what matters most means giving back to the people who matter most,” says company president Tommy Smith. “Community isn’t just part of our mission, it’s part of our identity.”
Mobile Communications America (MCA)’s service-first culture drives the company to make a meaningful impact in the communities where its employees live and work. “Through the MCA Foundation, our goal has always been to connect purpose with action by supporting the people and communities that make our success possible,” says Marshall Varner, Executive Director of the MCA Foundation. In 2025, the MCA Foundation Scholarship Program awarded $15,000 in scholarships to the children and dependents of MCA employees. MCA also launched an Emergency Relief Fund, providing grants to nonprofits responding to crises like natural disasters and public emergencies. The MCA Day Grant Program, now in its fourth year, awarded $144,000 to nonprofits focused on First Responders, Military/Veterans, STEM education, and public health. MCA also participated in the Virginia Beach “Out of the Darkness” Walk, where employees raised $5,579 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
On the fourth Wednesday of every month, the Pavion team comes together to assemble bagged lunches for Father Bill’s & MainSpring Shelter in Quincy, Mass. Each donation includes a deli sandwich, chips, cookies, a piece of fruit, and a drink – simple items that go a long way in showing care and support. Father Bill’s mission is to end and prevent homelessness across Southern Massachusetts through housing, job training, and critical support services. “We’re proud to support an organization making a lasting difference in our communities,” says CMO Alan Rosenkoff.
In 2025, Preferred Technologies LLC (Pref-Tech) continued its tradition of community involvement through a variety of charitable initiatives. The company supported ISD golf tournaments benefiting education foundations across Texas; the Montgomery County Cook-Off, which provides scholarships for local students; and the ASPIN Fishing Tournament, aiding security professionals in need. Pref-Tech also sponsored local children’s sports teams, participated and donated supplies to Montgomery ISD’s Back to School Bash, and supported DART’s National Night Out to promote community awareness and safety. The team served meals at the CenterPoint Energy BBQ Cook-Off to benefit the Employee Relief Fund, organized a local canned food drive, and opened our office to students for the Craftsman with Character program, a semester-long workforce development course preparing high school students for careers in skilled trades while instilling values for success in work and life. “These efforts reflect Pref-Tech’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the communities where our employees and customers live and work,” says company president Shaun Castillo.
In 2025, Pye-Barker Fire & Safety teams gathered and packed food for Haiti, taught kids to swim, climbed stairs to fundraise for firefighters and others impacted by lung disease, and continued its support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, among other causes. Explains Senior Marketing Manager MC Rhodes: “Pye-Barker remains committed to our local communities, where we live, work, and protect our customers every day. That commitment is reflected in how we give back. Our purpose – creating peace of mind together as we protect what matters most – is brought to life through three giving priorities: Community Care, creating peace of mind and protection in the places where we live and work; Team Member Care, creating peace of mind for each other in times of crisis; and Protection & Prevention, promoting life safety and risk prevention with and for our fellow protectors.
RapidFire Safety & Security employees collected donations for the St. Louis Area Foodbank to support tornado relief efforts. On May 16, 2025, several dozen strong to violent tornadoes struck the Ohio Valley region, including a large EF3 tornado that struck the Greater St. Louis area, killing four people. The company, which maintains a branch office in Kerrville, Texas, also collected donations to help the victims of the Kerrville floods.
Beyond its commitment to safeguarding companies, Safeguards Consulting deeply values community engagement and giving back. Each year, the company proudly contributes to the LEO Santa Toy Drive, a heartfelt initiative hosted by Greenville County that brings holiday joy to families in need. They also stand as proud supporters of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots. Also in 2025, their team took part in the #SecurityGivesBack initiative by visiting Upstate Warrior Solution, a valued friend and former client, at the Rupert Huse Veteran Center in Greenville, S.C. To honor the brave men and women who have selflessly served our country, they brought doughnuts and coffee as a small token of their heartfelt appreciation. “It was a meaningful opportunity to give back and express our gratitude to those who have sacrificed so much for our country,” says company president and Principal Consultant Mark Schreiber. “Giving back is more than just a seasonal tradition or a special occasion for us; it is a core part of our culture that we embrace year-round.”
At SAGE Integration, giving back isn’t just something they do during the holidays; it is part of the company’s commitment to empower employees and the communities that surround them all year. “Through our partnerships with SIA, Mission 500, our clients, and our employees, we are proud to make a lasting impact in the communities where we live, work, and thrive,” says COO John Nemerofsky. SAGE’s 2025 efforts included: Support for a SIA event benefiting the Dress for Success Southern Nevada initiative for unemployed women; the SIA LeadHER Conference dedicated to advancing women in the security industry; and the Can Do Challenge to collect food donations in Ohio, Georgia, and Texas. To support Mission 500, SAGE employees across three states filled 500 backpacks for Title 1 elementary students, and the company sponsored several golf outings and 5K races throughout the year. Client and employee-led charitable initiatives included “Dancing for the Kids” at Akron Children’s Hospital to benefit children fighting childhood cancer and other blood disorders, as well as the Adopt-A-Family program.
At Sciens Building Solutions, employees have a passion for giving back to amazing charities, and their 2025 give-back activities included Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, Harbor House, Advent Health, Miracle League, Lions Clubs & Masonic Lodges, Mustard Seed of Central Florida, Fertile GroundWorks, local shelters, numerous schools, and many others. “‘Community Matters’” is literally a Core Value that the company and its more than 2,000 employees take seriously,” says Jil Shingledecker, VP of Communications. “Our Core Values signage is displayed at every location across the country, and it reads: ‘Give back to the community. Help out where we can.’”
Each year, SecurAlarm has the privilege of partnering with incredible local organizations that are making a difference in the lives of others. Through sponsorships and donations in 2025, the company supported groups such as Alpha Grand Rapids, Pine Rest, Holland Home, and Origami. Employees also collected and donated high-need items to organizations like AYA Youth Collective, Kid’s Food Basket, and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. “We believe safety and security reach far beyond the work we do each day – they are part of how we care for and connect with our community,” says company president Brent Van Haren. “Beyond financial support, our team loves to get hands-on, hosting a trunk at Mary Free Bed’s Trunk or Treat, leading a booth activity at WAI Girls in Aviation Day, lending a hand at the Special Olympics of Michigan golf outing, and even helping maintain local parks by removing invasive species in Kent County. These experiences remind us that extending safety and security beyond our walls not only strengthens our community but also inspires us to serve with gratitude and heart.”
For the past five years, Securityhunter Inc., has made a difference within the community by sponsoring a voluntary Holiday Giving Program. The cause is usually selected by employee owners who have a direct connection with the cause. This year, they donated more than $2,000 to the Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, as suggested by employee owner Amanda Muchmore. Although Amanda is not a direct patient of Kennedy Krieger, she is personally affected as she has Erb’s Palsy – the common name for Brachial Plexus. “As a kid I went through several surgeries and even had to spend my summers in casts. At birth, my left arm was twisted so badly that I had to have surgery at only a few hours old just to twist my wrist back in place,” she says. “As an adult, I have learned to adapt to what I can and cannot do.”
Vision Technologies’ annual charity golf tournament, now in its 11th year, reflects the company’s dedication to giving back to the community, bringing together clients, partners, and teammates for a day of camaraderie and philanthropy. This year, everyone teed off for a great cause, raising more than $40,790 for Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries, and local meal programs that helps to provide more than 406,790 meals to those who need them most. “Together, the Vision team and our greater community of partners and customers continue to ‘Make Giving a Reality,’” says Allison Akers, Vision Technologies’ Senior Director of Marketing & Communications.
Vyanet gave back by sponsoring a program through a local community support provider called “Victim’s Assistance,” where the company provides free security systems and monitoring to people/families in Central Oregon who are dealing with threatening situations, such as abuse, harassment, etc., and need extra protection. “We’ve done about 15 systems in the last 8 years, and some situations have improved well enough for the people to not need them, which is great,” says Brian Gartland, COO. “Luckily, one of our systems helped save a person from an active threat.”
Across the Zeus Fire & Security family of companies, giving back to the communities we serve is central to its mission of protecting people, property, and profits. Over the past year, its teams have supported a wide range of local and national causes, from Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Lokahi Foundation in Hawaii, to Volunteers of America and the Food Bank of South Jersey, to Big Brothers Big Sisters and Boys & Girls Clubs in Wisconsin. Employees have also volunteered with organizations such as Shriners Hospitals for Children, Bancroft, and local Chambers of Commerce, championing programs that strengthen neighborhoods, support families, and create safer, more connected communities. “Together, the Zeus family continues to make a meaningful impact driven by the belief that when we care for our communities, we make them stronger,” says Zeus VP of Marketing Sarah Sagin.
