Security Watch: What is PSA Tec and Why Should You Attend?

May 1, 2012
PSA-Tec offers something for everyone

There is a common misnomer out there for PSA Security Network’s cornerstone event, PSA-TEC, May 14 through 18, 2012 in Westminster, Colo. It is frequently misspelled as PSA-Tech, but that would limit its content to only technicians, when it has been designed for all security professionals.  The “TEC” in PSA-TEC stands for Training, Exhibits and Conference.

Education topics include courses for: Strategy Implementation and Business Management; Project Management; Systems Design, Installation, Deployment and Maintenance; Consultative Selling and Proposal Development; and Procurement and Fulfillment.

In addition, PSA-TEC offers both manufacturer certifications as well as industry credentialing programs. Manufacturer certifications include: AMAG Symmetry; Exacq Vision; Pelco Endura; UTC Facility Commander Wnx; Arecont Vision; and Bosch Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA).

Certified security professionals can maintain credentials by attending PSA-TEC sessions and receiving Certificates of Completion for Continuing Education Credits (CECs). Industry credentials include: ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP); ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP); BICSI Electronic Safety and Security Designer (ESS); Electronic Security Networking Technician (ESNT); Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM); and Cisco CENT.

PSA-TEC has always featured numerous unique networking opportunities, but the 2012 event has been expanded and conference events include:
