Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired Suppression Systems, a Washington-based fire suppression company with operations in Tacoma, Washington and Portland, Oregon.

The acquisition expands Pye-Barker’s fire protection services in the Pacific Northwest, where the company has recently increased its presence.

Founded in 1976, Suppression Systems distributes, designs, engineers and installs fire alarm, detection and suppression systems for customers across the region.

The company serves industrial, commercial, marine and high-end residential properties and has worked on technically demanding projects including data centers, power plants and hospitals.

Zachary Tuck, owner of Suppression Systems, said joining Pye-Barker will allow the company to build on its 50-year history of protecting people and property.

“Together, we will continue our legacy as the premier fire suppression partner of mission critical companies,” Tuck said.

Bart Proctor, CEO of Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, said Suppression Systems has been a leader in special hazard fire protection systems for five decades. He said bringing the company’s expertise and services into Pye-Barker supports the companies’ shared goal of protecting more people throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Suppression Systems technicians will continue serving customers in the Pacific Northwest following the acquisition.

Pye-Barker provides fire protection, life safety and security systems nationwide. The company has more than 250 locations and 9,000 employees.
