Pavion has expanded its Midwest operations through the acquisition of Communication Company, a South Bend, Indiana-based technology solutions provider that has served customers in the region for 50 years.

The acquisition adds Communication Company’s regional customer relationships, technical expertise and local service capabilities to Pavion’s broader portfolio of fire and life safety, security, critical communications, audiovisual and integrated technology solutions.

Founded in 1976, Communication Company designs, installs and services technology systems for healthcare organizations, educational institutions, commercial facilities and other organizations. The company has built its business around technical expertise, responsive service and long-term customer relationships.

“Communication Company has built an impressive legacy by earning the trust of its customers through exceptional service, technical expertise, and strong local responsiveness,” said Joe Oliveri, CEO of Pavion. “Their team embodies the values that drive Pavion: a commitment to an exceptional customer experience while remaining agile and innovative.”

Oliveri said the combination expands Pavion’s ability to help organizations throughout the Midwest protect and connect their people, property and operations.

Communication Company customers will continue working with the company’s existing local teams while gaining access to Pavion’s broader resources and services. Those capabilities include fire and life safety, security, critical communications, audiovisual systems, integrated technology, engineering and technical services, lifecycle and managed services and specialized national support.

“Joining Pavion represents an exciting next chapter for Communication Company, our employees, and our customers,” said Dan Schmidtendoff, president and CEO of Communication Company. “Pavion’s scale, resources, and complementary expertise allow us to build on the foundation we have established over 50 years.”

Schmidtendoff said customers will continue working with their existing local teams while gaining access to additional technologies, support and specialized expertise.

The acquisition also expands Pavion’s healthcare capabilities. Communication Company has experience supporting hospitals and healthcare systems, complementing Pavion’s capabilities in critical communications, nurse call, real-time location systems, life safety, security, audiovisual technology and integrated systems.

Pavion said the combination strengthens its ability to provide healthcare organizations with integrated technology solutions supported by specialized expertise and a growing national footprint.

The acquisition is part of Pavion’s strategy of partnering with regional organizations that bring established customer relationships, technical expertise, experienced teams and local market leadership.
