RuggedNet Industrial Single Pair PoE Switches from Omnitron Systems
The RuggedNet GLPoE/Si industrial SPoE switch is engineered to meet the demands of long-reach, rugged-edge connectivity—delivering both power and Ethernet data up to 1 km over a single twisted pair. The SPoE switches are capable of powering powered devices (PDs) ranging from 30VDC class 10 - 12 up to 12.6W and 58VDC class 13 - 15 up to 79W.
Featuring four SPoE ports, dual uplinks, industrial-grade operation, and smart traffic isolation, it addresses deployment scenarios that standard PoE simply cannot.
Whether used in industrial automation, smart buildings, infrastructure, utilities, or transportation, it opens up a world of network design opportunities for upgrading existing network infrastructures, and creating new ones.
Key Features & Technical Highlights
Single Pair SPoE User Ports: Four 10BASE T1L SPoE ports, using either 3 Pin SPE terminal connectors or IEC 63171 2 SPE connectors. Fully compliant with IEEE 802.3cg, these ports integrate both Ethernet data and DC power over a single pair of wires—unlike conventional PoE, which requires four twisted pairs.
Up to 1 km Reach: Leveraging 10BASE T1L technology, the switch transports data and power reliably over distances up to 1,000 meters (1 km)—ten times longer than standard PoE runs. This long reach capability eliminates the need for remote power sources or repeaters in extended industrial or infrastructure environments
Uplink Connectivity: Two configurable uplinks: choose 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ 45 copper, or 100/1000 Mbps fiber SFP, depending on network architecture or environmental requirements. SFP ports support a range of copper/fiber options, including CWDM/DWDM and multimode/single mode fiber transceivers up to various distances
Operational Modes & Redundancy: Dual Device Mode: splits the unit into two independent Ethernet switches—each with two SPoE ports and one uplink—ideal for segregated traffic domains (e.g. video vs building automation)
Directed Switch Mode: intelligently routes multicast or broadcast traffic only to the intended uplink, preventing congestion and unnecessary flooding across domains
Uplink Redundancy: built in failover automatically shifts to the secondary uplink if primary uplink fails, then returns when restored. Can also support daisy chain topologies for multi hop reach extension
Industrial Grade Design: Designed for extreme conditions: fanless, –40 °C to +75 °C operating temperature, IP40 rated enclosure, wall/DIN rail/rack mounting options. Built with dual DC inputs for power redundancy, ensuring reliability in mission critical OT environments. Fully TAA, BAA, NDAA compliant, Made in the USA, with free 24/7/365 technical support.
