Phihong USA has developed an 8-port Power-over-Ethernet midspan that provides Ultra PoE technology with full power of 60W per port. Designated the POE480U-8UP, the midspan provides total full power of 480W and requires no power management. The device is ideal for remotely powering applications such as wireless access points, computer workstations, security systems and IP cameras with heaters. The midspan is 17.25 inches x 8.98 inches x 1.75 inches. Data networks are available with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T, and 1000BASE-T data rates. The unit has safety and protection systems designed to meet the IEEE 802.3 standards, including detection, disconnect and overload control. The outputs are equipped with short-circuit and overload protection, and the output can be shorted permanently without damage. Over-temperature protection allows the midspan to automatically shut down without being damaged.
