Monitronics' Dealer Council conducts inaugural meeting

Three authorized dealers from U.S. and Canada will provide assistance and input about company strategy

February 22, 2016 (DALLAS) – Monitronics continuously makes improvements to its Dealer Program to retain and develop dealers year after year. Since the Dealer Program is so important to the company’s success, it’s no surprise that Monitronics has created a “Dealer Council” to add strategic input.

Monitronics’ 2016 Dealer Council is a “think tank” comprised of three security company owners. The council, which had its first in-person meeting at Monitronics’ Dallas headquarters on Feb. 16, will meet in person and via teleconference several times during the year.

Council members were nominated by fellow dealers, and will each serve a one-year term:

  • Russell Keddie, Managing Partner of Liberty Security, will provide a Canadian perspective for the group. Liberty is Canada’s third-largest security company, operating in eight provinces and one territory.
  • Craig Metzger, President of New Jersey-based GuardMe Security, has been vocal about offering business practice suggestions that mutually benefit Monitronics and its dealers.
  • Todd Johnson is CEO of Capital Connect, which is based in Tucson, Ariz. Capital Connect has consistently been a top 10 dealer during its time in the Monitronics Dealer Program.  

Liberty, Capital Connect and GuardMe are all members of Monitronics Elite Advantage, which recognizes dealers for quality performance and production.

The council will contribute to the Monitronics Authorized Dealer Program by helping to identify potential issues and solutions; develop and beta-test new initiatives; and fine-tune dealer communications. They will also serve as Dealer Program ambassadors for the purposes of references and recruiting.

The first Dealer Council meeting gave great insight on how Monitronics can continue to improve its dealer program. Specific and timely goals were outlined and the next onsite meeting is scheduled during ISC West, April 5-7, in Las Vegas, Nev.
