John Nemerofsky Appointed Chair of FAST Board of Directors
The Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST) has appointed John Nemerofsky, COO of SAGE Integration, as chair of its Board of Directors. In this role, Nemerofsky will lead the board — comprising members from the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Electronic Security Association (ESA) — in shaping the foundation’s strategic direction and setting annual priorities.
Nemerofsky brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the security industry. Since joining SAGE Integration in 2019, he has helped build the company into a national security integrator with operations across 62 major U.S. metro areas and a network of more than 19,000 installer partner specialists. Earlier in his career, he played a key role in growing Niscayah, now Stanley Security Systems, into a billion-dollar enterprise.
Extensive industry involvement and leadership
In addition to his executive role at SAGE, Nemerofsky is actively involved in several industry organizations. He serves on the board of SIA, chairs its Member Engagement and Experience Committee, and holds positions on the board of PSA. He also chairs SecurityXchange and contributes regularly to Security Business Magazine.
“I’m truly honored to step into the role of chair for the Foundation for Advancing Security Talent,” said Nemerofsky. “FAST plays a critical role in addressing one of our industry’s greatest challenges: attracting, developing and retaining skilled professionals who are the backbone of everything we do.”
Nemerofsky succeeds Kerri Sutherland, manager of human resources business partnerships at Axis Communications, who will continue serving on the FAST board and oversee the foundation’s Security Technician of the Year Awards.
SIA CEO Don Erickson praised the leadership transition, stating, “John Nemerofsky is an inspiring and accomplished leader in our industry, and we congratulate him on the well-deserved honor of leading the FAST Board of Directors. His talent, expertise and dedication will be immensely beneficial to FAST’s work to foster the next generation of security industry leaders.”
Erickson also acknowledged Sutherland’s contributions, including her leadership on FAST initiatives such as the Security Industry Compensation Study, the Security Industry Careers Guide, and the foundation’s fundraising efforts.
Established in 2020 through a partnership between SIA and ESA, FAST is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on promoting careers in the physical security technology and life safety sector. The foundation offers a range of resources for job seekers, including a dedicated jobs board and information about industry roles, certifications, and educational opportunities. FAST also engages in workforce development research, school outreach, and continuing education efforts to support professionals in a rapidly evolving field.
