Company announces integrations with Microsoft and Genetec, five new cameras, and updates supply chain issues during annual press conference

LAS VEGAS - With a jungle theme to complement its new sustainability report, Axis Communications kicked off ISC West with its annual press conference breakfast where it announced five new products, new partnerships with Microsoft and Genetec, as well as other key news, including an update on the company's supply chain.

New Cameras

Unlike recent previous ISC West product unveilings, Axis stuck to video surveillance camera introductions in 2023, with a series of panoramic cameras, two dome cameras, and a new thermal camera designed for large-scale remote temperature monitoring. Each device is built on ARTPEC-8 chip technology and equipped with a Deep Learning Processing Unit (DLPU), making it possible to run advanced video analytics at the network edge.

“Video analytics and AI-based technologies are rapidly evolving and providing new solutions to security and business-related challenges,” Fredrik Nilsson, VP, Americas for Axis Communications, said in a press release. “Axis is committed to putting deep learning capabilities at the edge—making our ARTPEC-8 chip with DLPU the foundation of our new cameras—to offer greater intelligence, efficiency and opportunity.”

Specifically, products that Axis Communications debuted at ISC West include:
  • AXIS M4327-P and M4328-P Panoramic Cameras, which include 6MP or 12MP lens, respectively;
  • AXIS M4317-PLVE and M4318-PLVE panoramic mini-dome, outdoor-ready cameras designed for any light condition;
  • AXIS Q3626-VE and Q3628-VE advanced dome cameras with remote adjustment and support for advanced analytics;
  • AXIS P3827-PVE multisensor panoramic camera capable of delivering 180° coverage with no blind spots; and
  • AXIS Q2101-TE thermal camera for large-scale remote temperature monitoring.

All of the cameras will be available through Axis distribution channels in Q2 2023.

Supply Chain Update

At the press conference, Nilsson assured attendees that 80% of Axis products are back to "normal lead times."

New Partnerships

Axis also announced its "Powered by Genetec" line that combines Axis network door controllers and Genetec access control software into an all-in-one solution that offers easy deployment, maintenance and scalability along with enhanced cybersecurity for end users and system integrators alike.

By unifying Axis’s next-generation AXIS A1210 and A1610 Network Door Controllers with Genetec’s powerful IP-based SynergisTM access control software, customers not only benefit from reduced installation time and hardware costs. They also attain enterprise-level control features, immediate access to hardware and software enhancements, and cybersecurity updates from both Axis and Genetec directly through Genetec Synergis. This new architecture unites the new door controllers seamlessly with Synergis via AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) to enable real-time monitoring of events and alarms, advanced cardholder and access management and comprehensive reporting.

Additionally, Axis annoucned an integration with the Microsfot Azure Video Analyzer technology. Uing the AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) and cameras, Azure Video Analyzer helps expand the capabilities of Axis cameras by providing a platform for end-to-end video analytics solutions that span the edge and the cloud. This will enable an easier way to extract insights from live video at the edge and recording video to the cloud. The solution utilizes an edge gateway, an edge device that provides a connection between other devices on the network, and Azure IoT Hub.
