Analytics Uncovered, Part 1: Understanding the Terminology of Video Analytics

Sept. 8, 2022
A key element in taking the mystery out of video analytics and its evolving dependance on artificial intelligence, is understanding the terminology. That's the goal of our first program today in our Analytics Uncovered series.

The security industry is making a transition from traditional VMS into a sensor management platform for data collecting. An enormous amount of data is created every day -- roughly 80% of that is unstructured or ‘dark data’, while 37% of that is video data.

This creates a heavy burden on people to locate, organize and input data before the process even begins. But a key element in taking the mystery out of video analytics and its evolving dependance on artificial intelligence, is understanding the terminology.

That's the goal of the first podcast in our Analytics Uncovered series. We interviewed Amit Kumar, CEO and co-founder of Dragonfruit AI about tackling this challenge.
