PROTECH partners with CAST Perimeter with innovative joint solution that “sheds light” on intruders

RENO, NV – Two of the leading perimeter intrusion detection system manufacturers are teaming up to provide a new, combined solution for integrators and end-users – one that illuminates the perimeter from CAST and alerts of intrusions by PROTECH.

The solution combines the ability to identify when an intruder breaches the fence or active infrared barrier and then illuminates the area to deter them.

Working in conjunction with PROTECH’s accelerometer-based G-Fence (fence-mounted intrusion detection system) and Maxiris long-range infrared barrier technologies that detect cutting, climbing and lifting of the fence or beam breaks respectively, CAST Perimeter’s low voltage LED lighting system illuminates the area when an attempted intrusion occurs. This is done through the integration of PROTECH’s fence-mounted or IR barrier systems to the LED lighting system.

“This integration between our security systems provides customers with two key benefits – lighting the area to deter the intruder and providing control center staff another level of verification by giving clear sight of what is going on,” said PROTECH’s Chief Operating Officer Larry Thomas. “Further, if the facility has security cameras, video images change from black and white to color when the CAST Perimeter lights turn on, providing better image quality and viewing for police or security personnel.”

Regardless of the PIDS technology (fence-mounted or active IR), PROTECH’ system immediately identifies a breach and CAST’s technology lights up the specific area.
