DroneShield (ASX: DRO) has announced the launch of SentryCiv, a new counter-drone system designed for non-military applications.

The solution provides a non-emitting, passive layer of protection for airports, utilities, data centres, venues and stadiums, government buildings, energy infrastructure, power grids, correctional facilities, corporate campuses and other high-profile sites vulnerable to drone threats.

According to the New South Wales, Australia-based company, SentryCiv integrates into existing security systems to deliver real-time detection and situational awareness without disrupting operations. It uses proprietary DroneLocator technology for “dot-on-a-map” tracking of drone activity and operators, beyond RemoteID. The system’s Encrypted RF Threat Detection-RFAI engine can identify a wide range of common drone models without interfering with communication systems.

The platform connects to the Sentry-C2 Civ command-and-control interface, providing real-time alerts, threat prioritisation, customisable zones, data logging and integration with third-party systems. Offered as a subscription-based SaaS product with no upfront purchase cost, SentryCiv includes quarterly AI-driven software updates to expand detection capabilities and add new features.

DroneShield says the product is aimed at meeting the acquisition and performance requirements of civilian and public safety customers, which often differ from those of the military. By adapting its counter-drone technology for non-military use, the company aims to offer a cost-effective, scalable tool for industries such as corrections, aviation and utilities.

While the company has not disclosed expected sales figures, it anticipates significant demand from the civilian market and plans to provide further guidance as it becomes available.
