Gunman shoots 14 outside Toronto bar, then kills self

The scourge of mass shootings struck north of the border Sunday as a gunman pumped a flurry of bullets into a packed Toronto bar -- killing at least one and wounding 13 more, authorities said.
A madman clad in black, according to witnesses, opened fire in the Greektown neighborhood around 10 p.m., Toronto police officials said.
At least one woman died after being rushed to a local hospital and a 9-year-girl was critically wounded, authorities said.
An Instagram video shot from someone above showed the gunman walking down the sidewalk before suddenly turning and firing, though the original video was later taken down.
Witnesses said the shooter fired between 20 to 30 shots from what appeared to be a handgun on the restaurant-lined street.
"We heard a loud bang and I just looked to my left and I saw a guy in a black hoodie, just standing there, pointing at one of the storefront windows and the glass was just shattered," one witness told the Toronto Sun. "He was firing multiple shots, we heard eight, if not more."
The 19-year-old witness said the shooter stood outside on the sidewalk, but didn't appear to be using a rifle. She said it looked like he was specifically aiming directly into the restaurant.
"It was like he was in a stance, his arms were straight out," she told the paper.
Another witness said he saw seven victims lying on the ground, some of whom were drinking beer inside the Brass Taps Pizza Pub moments before the attack.
More patrons holed up inside the bar until the gunfire subsided and officers came rushing to their aid.
"The rest of the people came out to help when the police came. They were afraid to come out. They didn't know what they were facing," an unidentified witness told a local TV station.
The unidentified gunman took his own life after shooting at officers, according to Global News, citing a police source.
The motive behind the attack was not immediately known.
