HID Introduces Visitor Management Solution for Healthcare at HIMSS26
HID is showcasing new and existing healthcare security technologies at the HIMSS26 Global Health Conference & Exhibition, where the company is highlighting identity, security and data capture solutions designed for hospitals and healthcare environments.
At booth #2279, HID is introducing HID Visitor Manager for Healthcare, a cloud-based visitor management solution intended to strengthen security for facilities, staff and patients while reducing friction during the check-in process.
Unlike legacy visitor management systems, the new platform provides a configurable check-in process and integrates directly with electronic health record (EHR) systems, including Epic and Oracle Health. This integration allows hospital staff to link visitors to specific patients and access room location data within the workflow.
Built specifically for hospitals and health systems, the solution draws on HID’s experience in healthcare security and is designed to deploy with minimal IT involvement.
Key capabilities include integration with Epic, Oracle Health and other EHR systems, as well as tools for photo capture, ID scanning and watchlist management. The system also provides hundreds of out-of-the-box reports and supports multiple facility locations, various visit types such as patients, professionals and vendors, and different registration methods including pre-registrations and walk-ins.
The platform also generates audit-ready logs and analytics designed to support compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration, CMS and HIPAA requirements as well as state-specific workplace violence prevention laws.
Broader Healthcare Identity Ecosystem
In addition to visitor management, HID is highlighting several components of its healthcare identity ecosystem at HIMSS 2026.
This includes the HID Healthcare Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) platform, which is designed for clinical environments and provides tools to coordinate staff, patients and assets in real time. The system supports a range of use cases including asset management, staff safety, infant security, wander management, wayfinding, hand hygiene, environmental monitoring and clinical workflow management.
HID experts at the event are available to help hospitals evaluate RTLS deployments that aim to improve patient safety and workflow efficiency.
The company is also demonstrating Janam’s rugged mobile computers and RFID readers. These devices are designed to operate in clinical environments and support real-time data capture and credential validation across patient care, pharmacy operations and asset tracking workflows.
HID’s presence at HIMSS26 comes amid increasing focus on hospital safety and identity management. According to the company’s 2026 State of Security and Identity Report, worker safety and compliance are the primary drivers of RTLS adoption, cited by 69% of respondents. The report also found that identity management has become the top strategic priority for security professionals globally.
HID says its healthcare solutions aim to address these priorities by helping hospitals manage visitor access, protect staff and patients and support regulatory compliance within existing infrastructure.
