Security provider OpenEye announced the launch of its next-generation active-deterrence solutions designed to help organizations strengthen physical security and reduce risks.
The new cameras and features, introduced under the company’s cloud-video platform OpenEye Web Services (OWS), include integrated white-light LEDs and two-way audio capabilities to actively discourage unwanted behavior, such as trespassing or loitering. They respond automatically to alerts triggered by analytics for person or vehicle detection.
Key features of the offering:
- White-light illumination on select OpenEye cameras that activates in response to defined alerts such as loitering or line crossing.
- Two-way audio support that allows remote operators or monitoring stations to communicate directly with individuals on site in real time.
- Analytics-driven alerts via the OWS platform, including person/vehicle detection, line crossing, loitering and licence plate recognition (LRP).
- Integration with third-party alarm panels, sensors or monitoring platforms, enabling location-based arming/disarming and custom scheduling to reduce false alarms.
- Scalability via the cloud-managed platform: unlimited devices and locations, grouping of devices by policy or location to align with business workflows.
According to OpenEye, the active-deterrence cameras will begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2025, and are positioned as an upgrade path to help users reduce wasted monitoring effort while improving incident prevention.
By enabling illumination and live communication during a security event, OpenEye states that the new solution helps organizations intervene earlier, shifting some activities from reactive to proactive.
For organizations managing multiple sites or offering professional monitoring services, the open-platform architecture of OWS offers flexibility to monetize higher-value services and integrate legacy systems into a unified workflow solution.
