Genetec Introduces Cloudrunner Mobile for Field-Based Vehicle Investigations

Genetec has introduced Cloudrunner Mobile, a companion app designed to extend its vehicle-centric investigation system into the field for law enforcement and security professionals. The new app gives users faster access to vehicle data and alerts from any location.

Cloudrunner uses automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) and analytics to capture and organize vehicle information. The system gathers data to generate actionable insights that support enhanced analysis and the identification of critical details. Evidence is stored securely in the cloud, allowing authorized users to search, filter and correlate information. Genetec says the platform is built on privacy-by-design principles with encrypted, access-controlled data that is retained according to organizational policies.

Cloudrunner Mobile enables users to log in with biometric authentication to run searches, view alerts and manage hotlists from their mobile device. Searches can be filtered by vehicle characteristics including make, model, color or plate number, and refined by geographic radius based on a user’s current location. This allows investigators to narrow results to nearby cameras or areas of interest.

Real-time push notifications provide immediate hotlist alerts, helping personnel respond quickly while on patrol or during an investigation. Off-duty users can pause notifications, with recent activity stored for later review in the app.
