Florida, NY – Remee Wire & Cable, a manufacturer of electronic wire and cable, announced their line of PowerPipe Class 4 Fault-Managed Power Cables, part of their Activate family of Powered Cable Solutions, now meets the new UL 1400-2 standard for Class 4 Fault-Managed Power systems and are rated CL4P.
These cables have passed a rigorous series of UL tests at ETL Labs (part of Intertek’s global lab network) to ensure they conform to the safety and performance requirements as required by UL 1400-2, a recent update to the National Electric Code (NEC).
ETL describes the CL4P listing as a Class 4 jacketed cable for use in plenum applications (air handling spaces), riser applications, in buildings, and fault managed power systems.
These CL4P rated Class 4 Power Cables feature multipair copper conductors in 18, 16 and 14 AWG, unshielded, with Remguard insulation and jacket. They can be partnered with the REMFO line of tight buffer or MicroTube (loose tube) fiber optic cables for hybrid configurations, tailored to deliver Class 4 power and enhanced data at extended distances.
Remee’s Activate PowerPipe cables are a cost-effective and resilient power cabling solution for distributed electronics that meet the new NEC Class 4 standard for fault-managed power systems. This technology allows for controlled power distribution that is safe, less expensive, faster to install, and supports growing digital power technologies such as Digital Electricity* (DE) and those required in smart buildings.
PowerPipe cables are used with DE* to support a large variety of applications, such as:
- DAS
- DRAN
- Small cells
- PoE
- LED lighting systems
- Security cameras
- Passive Optical Networks (PONs)
- ODAS
- Data Centers
- Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
- BAS
- Rooftop macro cells
- Intelligent building
- Indoor agriculture
- IoT sensors
