Company to bring products to U.S. in mid-2006

Milan, Italy - Fluidmesh Networks, a Boston-based MIT spin-off, has recently signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Videoline TVCC Warehouse, the leading distributor of professional video products in Italy.

The agreement concerns the distribution of Videomesh 2200 in Italy, the first "intelligent" wireless transmitter for video-surveillance applications. Videomesh 2200 is a wireless product with innovative "intelligent" transmission capabilities that are not present in any traditional Wi-Fi or HiperLAN devices. Based on advanced mesh networking algorithms, Videomesh technology is able to optimize the transmission through the optimal path, performing "intelligent" routing of packets in real time. Videomesh 2200 is the first wireless mesh product specifically designed for videosurveillance applications and it stands apart from any competing wireless product thanks to several advanced capabilities related to videostreaming.

Videomesh 2200's strength is the advanced internal prioritization and optimization system, capable of detecting the type of packet transmitted (es. TCP, UDP, etc.) and video-encoding standard employed (es. MPEG4 I-frame, MEPG4 P-frame, M-JPEG). The wireless transmission system automatically optimizes every packet transmission based on the packet type and characteristics. "We are extremely satisfied with the partnership with Videoline TVCC – declares Umberto Malesci, Fluidmesh president and founder. "The agreement with the Italian leader in the distribution of professional video-surveillance products allows to every Italian system integrator to easily solve the challenges of installing a video-surveillance system in locations that are hard or impossible to wire, such as metropolitan areas or numerous seaports in Italy".

"We waited for a long time before entering the wireless videosurveillance market segment because no product seemed to be aligned with our standards in terms of reliability and performances", added Marco Lazzaroni, Videoline CEO. "Every wireless solution involved high risks in terms of reliability that the Videomesh technology solves taking advantage of the innovative wireless mesh architecture. We satisfied our will to offer to our customers an advanced and reliable wireless product – concludes Lazzaroni – "creating this partnership between our company and Fluidmesh Networks".

Fluidmesh Networks and Videoline presented Videomesh 2200 at SMAU 2005, the leading IT trade-show in Italy, in collaboration with Politecnico of Milan and WBS S.r.l. The Videomesh technology launch period in Italy includes a series of informational and training events for system integrators, installers, and end users, until the official Italian launch of the product in March 2006 at Sicurezza, leading trade-show for the Italian security industry. Fluidmesh Networks will then present Videomesh technology to the European market at large in May 2006 at IFSEC, major trade-show for the European security industry.

Fluidmesh Networks' target markets are municipalities, industrial plants, seaports and marinas, archaeological sites, resorts, theme parks and racing tracks. Founded by a team of researchers and engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA (USA) and the Politecnico of Milan in Italy, Fluidmesh Networks serves its customers worldwide from its headquarters in Boston, and from its European office based Italy.
