Videolarm and AvaLAN Partner to Create Wireless IP Dome Camera Enclosure

Enclosure offers secure, non-line-of-sight transmission of video data
May 18, 2005

Following a high demand for wireless IP camera support, Videolarm has launched the world?s first integrated non-line-of-sight 900 MHz wireless dome enclosure using AvaLAN?s embedded Ethernet bridge solution.

In addition to Videolarm?s own integrated IP dome solution, the 7-inch outdoor dome can be ordered with custom brackets to support network-based cameras from Axis, Canon, Elmo, JVC, Panasonic and Sony.

The system is designed to work through up to 10 typical walls, or a small grove of trees and other foliage, and will not interfere with wi-fi networks, nor does it require an FCC license.

To keep data secure, 128-bit encryption is used; the matched private keys on transmitter and receiver are programmed at the factory.
