OTTAWA, ONTARIO, May 18, 2006 -- March Networks, a leading provider of Internet Protocol (IP)-based digital video surveillance solutions, announced today that a US-based department store has selected the March Networks R5 Visual Intelligence platform as its enterprise-wide digital video solution.
The retailer, with approximately 600 stores and outlets, has started deployment of the March Networks solution that will be used to improve store security, reduce loss, and enhance operational efficiency. The March Networks solution was selected over competing systems due to its high performance in-store video recording capability combined with the ability to centrally manage and monitor the video over the corporate network. As part of the solution, the retailer will also deploy the March Networks point-of-sale transaction software solution that seamlessly links specific cash register transaction data with stored video files allowing for efficient and centralized investigations.
"Large-scale, advanced deployments of digital video surveillance for retailers have become mission critical applications when it comes to effectively managing day-to-day operations." said Peter Strom, president and CEO of March Networks. "March Networks continues to offer industry leading retailers the most reliable, scaleable, and manageable video solutions to effectively address business needs."
