Pixim, a leading provider of image sensors and processors for enterprise security cameras, announced that Coship Electronics Co., of Shenzhen, China, has introduced wide dynamic range IP video cameras integrating Pixim's award-winning Digital Pixel System technology.
The Coship CN68-80C wide dynamic range IP camera and CN68-80CW wireless wide dynamic range IP camera, which use Pixim Orca D1600 chipsets, are designed for a broad range of security applications requiring networked cameras. In addition, IP cameras are better suited to remote security needs.
"Pixim's Digital Pixel System technology offers the widest dynamic range available, enabling our cameras to produce excellent image quality and color rendering, regardless of the lighting conditions where the camera is located," said Yang Weimin, R&D manager, vice president of Coship security business unit. "In addition, Pixim's all-digital video capture system provides the ability to directly output the digital video signal of our new IP cameras, to maintain the highest possible image integrity and full resolution, from pixel to packet."
Pixim's Digital Pixel System technology is the only video image capture technology to employ hundreds of thousands of pixels, each acting like an individual camera. These self-adjusting pixels deliver the highest total resolution, natural color and clarity - in all lighting conditions. Cameras incorporating the Digital Pixel System are able to produce accurate, high-quality images even in environments with variable or high-contrast lighting, glare, reflection and other lighting challenges.
The new Coship wired and wireless wide dynamic range IP cameras provide high resolution; MPEG-4 compression format; support for both static and dynamic IP; an embedded web browser; built-in 802.11b/g wireless protocol (in the CN68-80CW wireless model); security features such as digital watermark and authority protection; audio broadcast and audio/image synchronization; and adjustable brightness, saturation, sharpness and hue.
Additionally, the Coship cameras have embedded motion detection alarm capabilities, a video analytics feature that enables the cameras to detect pre-determined kinds of motion and automatically alert security personnel.

Coship already offers Pixim-powered wide dynamic range compact dome cameras - incorporating Pixim's mobile Orca D1400 chipsets - that are being installed on buses throughout China to promote passenger safety and prevent theft.
