Encoder/decoder series provides high-resolution video, CBR streaming with video intelligence

HERZLIYA, Israel. - May 3rd – ioimage, the pioneer of intelligent video appliances designed for simplicity, announced today the release of the ioibox lvm encoder/decoder series. Maintaining the industry's leading low-latency video transmission, the Ivm series delivers exceptional video quality with a constant bit rate (CBR), thereby optimizing bandwidth for real-time video compression and streaming. Ideal for mission-critical UAV, missile and long-range surveillance devices, the lvm enables homeland security and defense organizations to effectively carry out audio, video and data-link applications in which timing, quality and bandwidth are critical.

Deployed at a number of Israeli defense installations, the lvm line of high-quality intelligent video appliances maintains end-to-end throughput below 50ms – far less than alternative solutions. The plug-and-play lvm encoders/decoders support high-quality CBR streaming from as low as 64Kbps, thereby enabling visual communication with remote sites at up to 6Mbps. Built with integrated storage, the series decreases dependency on link conditions while maintaining information even when the network connection is down.

The field-proven lvm features a small footprint and low power consumption in an industrial grade extended temperature chassis. The lvm series is available with optional built-in video analytics and in module only mode for OEM. By reducing delivery and reaction times for real-time remote observation, navigation and control, the series provides accurate and timely visual information for effective monitoring of vision-guided manned/unmanned, remote surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance systems.

"The lvm series complements our line of intelligent video appliances, and boosts our offering to the homeland security and defense markets, as well as to commercial multi-site monitoring", said Roni Kass, CEO of ioimage. "With the industry's lowest throughput and exceptional video quality that supports narrow and broad links, the lvm is ideally suited for a full range of real-time, mission-critical applications carried out by security and defense organizations."

The ioibox lvm encoder/decoder series will be launched at GovSec. ioimage will be presenting its intelligent video offerings at Booth #1948 at GovSec May 9-10, 2007.
