Indoor/Outdoor Applications include School Buses, Mass Transit, Armored Transport, Warehouses, Parking Garages and More

FORESTVILLE, CONN. – September 25, 2006 – Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies today introduced its new Schlage mobile video manager (MVM) designed to provide superior durability and unmatched versatility for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications, from school buses to mass transit. Video captured by the Schlage MVM can be sent via cellular, wireless, mesh or LAN/WAN networks to alert security personnel quickly, from multiple locales, using mobile phones, PDAs and/or PCs.

“From dynamic applications, such as buses, public transit, railways and armored cars, to a range of more static applications in parking garages, offices and warehouses, the Schlage mobile video management system provides a solution for video surveillance of places that are often challenging to monitor,” explains Felix Mira, Schlage electronic security marketing manager. “Indoors or outdoors, this new mobile video system enables security-conscious organizations to keep close watch of people and assets even while they are in transit.”

The Mobile Video Manager’s distinctive design includes cameras with dual viewing windows, allowing them to be mounted either to a ceiling or wall without requiring a bracket. Although rugged, the mobile camera is sleek, lightweight and has an ultra-high impact resistance and is both dust and water-resistant. An optional Infra-Red illuminator, with a range of up to 50 feet away, makes the camera usable even in complete darkness.

The new Mobile Video Manager from Schlage supports up to four cameras, is compatible with both narrow and wide band networks, and provides simultaneous video recording and playback on all channels. The Communicator provides remote PTZ camera control, event driven recording, including pre- and post-alarm, and video motion detection. The unit is high shock and vibration resistant for the most challenging of mobile applications. The hard disk is removable for control room viewing. A GPS module is also available.
