Honeywell L-Series Cameras Offer Low-Light Sensitivity

Cost effective box cameras offered standard and high-resolution surveillance, imaging in black and white

LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 5, 2007 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today introduced the L-Series line of cost-effective cameras, which provide high quality video in day-to-day surveillance applications. Designed and manufactured entirely by Honeywell, the L-Series offers a variety of standard and high-resolution box cameras for applications with normal or low-light conditions where detection and recognition of objects is critical.

The two black and white cameras furnish a reliable solution for basic surveillance, and can also be used with infrared illumination for increased low-light sensitivity. In addition, the two color cameras and the True Day/Night model offer a manual exposure mode in which the shutter speed can be set to a constant value, for machine vision and other manufacturing processes that require a constant shutter speed. The True Day/Night model offers accurate color during the day and enhanced low-light sensitivity at night, enabling customers to use the cost-effective L-Series cameras for round-the-clock surveillance applications that required more expensive solutions in the past.

"In the past, video images suffered in quality as a result of low-light conditions," said Peter Simmons, product manager, Honeywell. "The improved sensitivity of the L-Series cameras enhances video performance and gives the customer preserved color fidelity and sharp images even under changing color conditions and varying light levels."

In addition to capturing better video images, customers will appreciate the quick installation and setup. A remote control menu on the True Day/Night model allows operators to set up and maintain the camera easily from any PC. This feature makes the L-Series a user-friendly surveillance solution for general indoor and outdoor applications in the financial sector, commercial and retail sites and educational facilities.

Honeywell will present the L-Series cameras at ISC West 2007. For more information, please visit
