JVC Europe Releases VR-509E 9-channel MPEG-2 DVR

DVR allows images to be exported on DVDs for playback on domestic DVD players

London - JVC is now stocking the VR-509E digital video recorder which has the ability to record to a DVD in a proprietary format as well as to record on to domestic video format enabling playback on any domestic DVD player. This feature provides an incredibly cost-effective way for video evidence to be presented and utilized by most video security systems and applications that require total reliability, flexibility and high-quality. To date, this versatile unit has been used in the banking & finance as well as railway transportation industries. In both instances, the DVD playback feature is utilized. The VR-509E is one of the first in the industry to integrate a time and date stamp within the video image. It is compact in size, measuring 340mm (w) and utilises an ergonomic jog shuttle dial for precise control. The MPEG-2 compression achieves high quality pictures and high-density recording at up to 100 frames per second across all channels on to a 320GB hard disk drive that can be expanded with an additional 500GB external drive. The VR-509E will be shown for the first time to an international audience at IFSEC 2006, NEC Birmingham on stand N110 between 8 - 12 May, 2006.
