MELVILLE, N.Y., February 11, 2008 Ć¢ā‚¬ā€œ Verint Systems Inc. today announced that a leading international mining company has deployed Verint's Nextiva Critical Infrastructure (CI) solution to enhance security at the company's three mine locations and corporate headquarters in South America.

This major mining and metals company has assets of more than 100 billion US dollars and is a world leader in production of iron ore, nickel, copper concentrate, bauxite, alumina, potassium, kaolin, manganese and iron alloys. Nextiva CI will help to modernize the company's security infrastructure, allowing for a more proactive approach to threat prevention and emergency response.

Verint's Nextiva CI will help protect the company's facilities by enabling security personnel to react rapidly to security breaches, unauthorized personnel or vehicles or suspicious activity across their expansive mining infrastructure. The solution has been implemented across the facility perimeters and at certain warehouses, secure entrances, access control doors and other sensitive areas.

"We are pleased to help this major international mining company enhance the security of its mission-critical facilities," said Jim Clark, General Manager of Verint Video Intelligence Solutions. "Verint's Nextiva CI solution is well suited to help large organizations with geographically dispersed facilities enhance the security of their core infrastructure."
