    Dedicated Micros Wins Australian Award for DV-IP

    Australian security industry association names DV-IP server as 'best new product'

    Chantilly, VA - Dedicated Micros Inc. announces that its DV-IP Server secured one of Australia’s most prestigious industry awards, “Best New Product,” at this year’s ASIAL (Australian Security Industry Association Limited) gala awards ceremony held at the Security 2005 exhibition in Sydney earlier this month.

    The DV-IP Server proved to be the star attraction at Security 2005, following an intensive judging procedure, which involved ASIAL National Executive Council member consideration, presentations to conference delegates and hands-on product access at the exhibition.

    The advanced DV-IP Server sets a new standard for professional network video servers. It was created to satisfy the requirements of 24-hour video surveillance, with integrated hard disk recording and the ability to use new or existing video over IP-enabled computer networks to deliver a scaleable, economic and reliable means of recording and distributing on-demand video from a site’s CCTV cameras.

    A key factor that helped the DV-IP Server to win the “Best New Product” accolade is its unique trans-coding capability. The system is the first product in its class to deliver local recording of evidential quality JPEG format images while simultaneously streaming video in MPEG-4 format, an innovation that facilitates efficient data transmission over low bandwidth connections.

    The flexible DV-IP Server also allows the resolution of viewed images to be dynamically altered to maximize live viewing performance over the available bandwidth. Should the network connection become unavailable, vital CCTV evidence will not lost as the DV-IP Server records all images are locally to hard disk – an approach that Dedicated Micros is adopting for all of its Video Over IP products.

    The DV-IP Server is built on the NetVu Connected architecture, the common DNA technology that supports interoperability between systems from Dedicated Micros, AD Group and other leading security companies.
