Dedicated Micros Inc. has released the Eco9, one of the industry's smallest DVMRs and one of the most cost-effective, digital security solutions for retail applications that want to dispense with the maintenance, image quality, tape management issues associated with traditional time-lapse VCRs.
This compact, 9-camera unit extends the monitoring capabilities of the ever-popular Eco4 as it brings high-end functionality to the entry-level marketplace with the capacity for additional cameras. Features include remote viewing and management, video motion detection, spot monitoring and archiving capability to an external CD-R, providing larger convenience stores and midsize retail establishments with a high-end solution.
The unit features up to 30 PPS recording speed and options 80, 160 and 300 GB internal hard disk storage, providing up to one week, two weeks, or one month respectively (at a standard record rate of 6 PPS and 18 Kb file size). All images are digitally watermarked and can be accessed remotely via a standard PC over dial-up, broadband Internet or WAN using Dedicated Micros' Network Viewer software.
"The evolution to the Eco9 DVMR is driven from our success of the Eco4," said Don Taylor, vice president of marketing at Dedicated Micros. "We are simply meeting our customers' needs to provide additional capabilities for businesses who want the benefits of digital recording at an affordable cost."
