New Bangkok International Airport Selects DVTel NVMS for Advanced Security Command and Control
Las Vegas, NV and Ridgefield Park, NJ -- DVTel Inc., multiple award- winning market leader in delivering integrated IP security solutions for surveillance and monitoring, today announced the New Bangkok International Airport (NBIA) has selected the DVTel Network Video Management System (NVMS) to provide IP network video surveillance and to function as the airport's security command and control system. The project will be completed through Semple Cochrane (Asia), DVTel's partner in Thailand, which has provided installation and project management expertise.
Work began on the New Bangkok International Airport, or Suvarnabhumi Airport as it is properly known, in 2002, with the airport scheduled to open early next year. Suvarnabhumi means "golden land" in the Thai language.
Johnny Trivitayakhun, Managing Director of Semple Cochrane (Asia), commented on the NBIA management's security strategy, "Tourism is extremely important to the Thai economy, and this is going to be the newest, most advanced airport in the world. So, naturally management wanted the most advanced security technology available. They also wanted a technology that was going to adapt and be highly effective for a decade or longer."
The DVTel Latitude Network Video Management System (NVMS) will serve not only as the management software for what will eventually number thousands of surveillance cameras located throughout the passenger terminals, it will also function as the command and control center, accessing and correlating data from multiple systems like facial recognition, access control, fire alarms, building automation, and other data sources. Video will be available at command centers and on designated desktops, but also via wireless to official's hand-held devices anywhere in the airport complex.
Eli Gorovici, DVTel CEO, said, "It almost goes without saying that airport security is critical during these challenging times. From day one, the NBIA was looking for a platform to deliver video, voice and data information, or what we call a multi-source intelligence management system. The DVTel NVMS offers a high degree of flexibility, performance, and future resistance, while also providing a single, central system to view and control the entire security function. We're pleased that this important installation gives us the opportunity to showcase DVTel's full potential."
