Mobotix develops new line of 5-megapixel cameras, announces firmware update
NEW YORK, September 23, 2013 – MOBOTIX, an industry leading provider of high-resolution, network-based security solutions, continues to innovate and expands its IP surveillance and security solutions portfolio with the development of a comprehensive line of five-megapixel cameras, and a firmware update that includes lowlight exposure optimization software.
MxLEO
The new Lowlight Exposure Optimization (MxLEO) software is part of MOBOTIX firmware update 4.1.9 that also includes support for Hemispheric 5 Megapixel technology. MxLEO is the latest in MOBOTIX image enhancing technology and is designed to boost image quality in extreme low-light conditions. MxLEO delivers enhanced image sharpness, considerably less noise in images, user-friendly light settings, and fully optimized recording and alarm results with MxActivitySensor.
In addition to MxLEO, the 4.1.9 firmware includes support for Hemispheric sensor modules for the newly released S15 and M15 camera platforms. It also enhances the MOBOTIX door station offering with the AudioMount for the S14/S15 camera platform, which enables customers to build their own building automation/home automation solution.
Firmware release 4.1.9, like all MOBOTIX software, is free of charge. It can be downloaded on all 5 Megapixel MOBOTIX cameras and is included on future 5-series camera models.
M15
The MOBOTIX M15 camera platform is based on new MOBOTIX 5 Megapixel technology. The camera includes two exchangeable sensor modules and further builds on the camera platform concept and decentralized approach to surveillance pioneered by MOBOTIX. The M15 platform offers two exchangeable 5 Megapixel sensor modules. As the modules can be easily exchanged, users will have access to an up-to-date surveillance system for their specific application. By using 5 Megapixel sensors, users will gain more than four times better light sensitivity in all conditions. The new sensor technology offers a frame rate of up to 30 frames per second and the zoom capabilities are increased by 27 percent in color and by more than 200 percent in black-and-white.
S15, D15 and V15
New camera models S15, D15 and V15 are developed from their already successful predecessor series. By using 5 Megapixel sensors, users can experience clear advantages, including better light sensitivity in low light conditions or at night, and enhanced image quality in inclement weather.
The maximum QXGA resolution is more than 2.5 times more detailed than full HD, and the new sensor technology combined with preprocessing image data directly on the camera delivers a video stream frame rate of up to 30 frames per second.
Upgrade for IT Models
The MOBOTIX IT camera models are cost-effective versions of existing MOBOTIX cameras. IT models deliver base functionality and software capabilities but now boast a 3X increase in resolution, from VGA to HD, with the addition of a 5 Megapixel image sensor.
IT cameras are well-suited for industrial and commercial applications such as the continual monitoring of production processes, where the main requirement is monitoring non-security operations, such as manufacturing and the highest image detail isn’t required.
BellRFID
MOBOTIX also launched a new component for the T24 Door Station product platform, the BellRFID keypad. The BellRFID keypad allows users to add a simplified keypad for use with the T24 Door Station.
BellRFID is a modular bell button module that combines a base module with any one of six available bell button sets. The set can be exchanged at any time. The module can also be used to open the door without a key via RFID card thanks to the built-in RFID technology.
S14/S15 Mounts
A new series of installation mounts for the S14/S15 Product Platform is now available. Options include the S14/S15 SurroundMount, DualMount, HaloMount and SpeakerMount. With the new mounts, users tap into the benefits of easy-to-install solutions that create new applications for the S14/S15 video surveillance platform.
“Our new technologies represent continued innovation to an idea that started more than 13 years ago,” said Steve Gorski, General Manager, Americas, MOBOTIX Corp. “As we expand upon our camera platform concept, we achieve new levels of design and functionality because we develop it with feedback from our partners and customers. We strive to deliver a platform that can adapt to current and future needs, and address different security and business requirements. These innovations are the future of our company and the industry.”
The entire MOBOTIX product line will be on display at the upcoming ASIS International Seminar & Exhibits, being held Sept. 24-26, 2013, at McCormick Place in Chicago. Attendees are invited to visit booth no. 2275 for demonstrations of the company’s new innovations throughout the conference.
