PureActiv integrates with Bosch DINION IP ultra 8000 MP camera to expand intelligent video capability

PHOENIX, Ariz. – March 31, 2015 -- PureTech Systems has announced the integration of its PureActiv video analytics capabilities with the Bosch DINION IP ultra 8000 MP camera. The integration affords intelligent video utilizing the 4K ultra HD technology. The combination enables the analysis by PureActiv Video Analytics, providing long-range object detection, classification, behaviors, real size/speed/location, counting and PTZ camera slew to cue.

The latest in security camera trends, 4K video provides a resolution of 3840 x 2160. That represents a pixel increase of almost 27 times that of a traditional D1/4 CIF camera. From a security aspect, this higher resolution results in more coverage area, more target details or greater detection distances. When compared with a traditional D1/4 CIF camera, the 4K video from the Bosch DINION IP ultra 8000 MP can provide the same detection capability over a horizontal field of view five times larger. When utilized with of lens providing the same field of view, it can extend the detection distance by more than 40%. These improvements can have a significant impact on detection coverage and/or installation costs.

“Video continues as a central part of our society and the security industry as a whole,” explains Kevin Campbell vice president of sales for PureTech Systems.  “Yet, as a data source, much of the information it contains is left unused.  Video analytics can take that large set of video data, analyze it and use it to inform and notify.  The introduction of 4K video provides us a much greater data set against which we can apply our intellgent video algorithms and gain this actionable data for use by the security industry and other markets.”

In addition to enhanced video analytics performance, when used with most video management systems, including PureTech Systems’ geospatial VMS, the high resolution video provided by the Bosch DINION IP ultra 8000 allows for viewing of extreme details on both live and recorded video.  The integration also provides video meta data which can be utilized for forensic or alarming purposes.

The integration is available for both new installations and upgrades to existing installations.  Current VMS integrations that acommodate PureActiv analytics will support the use of 4K for video analytics, including ONSSI, Genetec, Tyco/Proximex, Lockheed Martin and Verint.  Contact PureTech regarding integration to additional VMS’s.
