Daytona International Speedway grows roster of technology providers for the DAYTONA Rising project
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – November 21, 2015 – As part of its expanding network of leading technology providers, Daytona International Speedway (DIS) announced it has arranged for Honeywell, ComNet Communications, and Graybar to provide security, cable installation, and supply chain management services for its Daytona Technology Platform Powered by CDW. Honeywell, ComNet Communications, and Graybar join the inaugural group of six technology providers including CDW, Belden, CommScope, Inc., The Integration Factory, Peerless-AV, and Schneider Electric, which were announced earlier this year towards supporting the unprecedented $400 million DAYTONA Rising redevelopment project.
The Daytona Technology Platform Powered by CDW is designed specifically for companies involved in the construction of the DAYTONA Rising project and puts them at the forefront of the technological advances taking place to transform DIS into the world’s first motorsports stadium. Participation in the Platform also enables them to showcase their involvement through an onsite marketing presence (once their role in the project begins).
“To deliver the experience that sports fans expect today, it is crucial to have relationships with industry leaders that allow us to accommodate incredible volume in terms of technological bandwidth and security capabilities so that fans can stay connected and watch the event with peace of mind,” said Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III. “We couldn’t be more excited to add Honeywell, ComNet Communications and Graybar to our growing list of participants for the Daytona Technology Platform Powered by CDW and we’re confident they will provide a high-level of support for years to come.”
Honeywell, a top provider of security technology for facilities and companies around the world, has supplied a state-of-the-art security monitoring system throughout DIS. This system, designed by national integrator Security 101, includes Honeywell’s MAXPRO® VMS (video management system) – which will help DIS security personnel manage nearly 600 surveillance cameras – and Pro-Watch® access control platform. The Pro-Watch technology will help protect nearly 300 doors throughout DIS. When integrated, these technologies allow personnel to respond more effectively to security incidents.
In addition, DIS is working with ComNet Communications, a nationwide leading provider of structured cabling installation. ComNet, with headquarters in Bethel, CT, is a manufacturer certified on most major structured cabling systems and worked with CommScope to install the CommScope SYSTIMAX® fiber and copper solutions for DAYTONA Rising, allowing facility operations and fan technologies to operate. ComNet Communications also worked with Belden to help implement the audio cable infrastructure, enabling the great audio experience heard at DIS.
Finally, Graybar, a Fortune 500 corporation and one of the largest employee-owned companies in North America, joins the Platform. Graybar is a leader in the distribution of high quality electrical and communications products, and specializes in related supply chain management and logistics services. The relationship with Graybar has greatly assisted sourcing products for the reimagining of DIS and will continue to play a crucial role in ongoing operational support for all of the International Speedway Corporation properties.
As a participant, the companies receive special recognition as Daytona Technology Platform Powered by CDW providers within the facility, along with corporate hospitality opportunities for entertaining guests during major events.
