Working together with CIDCO, company enables the Metro to achieve its aim of mitigating risk, maintaining business continuity, and optimizing operations

Qognify, formerly NICE Security, has announced that the Navi Mumbai Metro has selected its market-leading mass transit solution to ensure the safety and security of passengers and assets.  The Navi Mumbai Metro is now under construction and slated to open for operation in 2017.

Navi Mumbai was established to handle the population overflow of the overcrowded and ever-growing city of Mumbai. Like the new city itself, the Navi Mumbai Metro is built from the ground up. This has enabled CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation), the body formed and tasked with management of Navi Mumbai, to utilize the latest technology and best practices to ensure the secure and safe operation of the Metro.

At the core of the solution is Qognify Situator, an advanced Situation Management / PSIM platform which integrates all components for the solution as well as Qognify’s Video Management System and award-winning Video Analytics. The first phase of the project provides coverage for the ten new stations opening along the line, with Phase II planned to include connectivity to the Navi Mumbai Airport. With 24/7 monitoring of the Metro’s station and depot areas, the solution will enhance passenger safety and security, in addition to enabling streamlined operations and ensuring regulatory compliance.

With its automation engine, Situator delivers pre-defined, adaptive workflows that facilitate effective and consistent responses. It also facilitates collaboration among stakeholder agencies including Metro operators and police via system access to a common operating picture. “Qognify’s mass transit domain experience was key in our decision to partner with them,” said Mr. Nitin Deshpande, Superintendent Engineer Telecom CIDCO. “we are confident that the Qognify solution will go beyond our requirements for seamless surveillance of our railway stations to mitigate operational, safety and situational risks and to ensure a sense of security and safety for our passengers and employees.”

“We’re honored to have Navi Mumbai Metro join a long and growing list of transit operations using Qognify’s integrated security solutions to secure people, operations, and infrastructure,” said Moti Shabtai, President of Qognify. “Situator and our video management solution, complemented with advanced video analytics, gives Metro security and operations personnel the power to identify risk, make optimal decisions, and take effective action.”
