Irish-founded physical AI company ImageDeep has launched Houndlight, an all-in-one AI security unit designed to protect remote locations without mains power or internet access.

The unit is intended for construction gates, farms, yards, quarries, solar farms, telecom masts and other sites where theft and trespassing may go undetected overnight. According to ImageDeep, conventional CCTV systems require power, cabling and network connectivity, while hiring guards can be expensive for sites that sit empty overnight.

Houndlight combines solar and battery power with 4G connectivity and on-device artificial intelligence to detect people and vehicles day and night. When an intrusion is detected, the unit automatically activates a light beacon, siren and voice warning to deter intruders.

The system sends alerts to users' phones, while human-verified monitoring from ImageDeep's 24/7 operators is available as an upgrade. The company says the unit can operate for days without mains power and can be installed on a pole, wall or temporary post, allowing it to move as site requirements change.

ImageDeep developed Houndlight in-house around three goals: low power consumption, high AI accuracy and immediate deterrence.

“Most site theft happens where there is no power, no internet and nobody watching,” said Niall Dorr, founder of ImageDeep. “Houndlight brings the AI we built for large contractors to any gate, yard or field. It sees the intruder, warns them off and tells you, all from a unit you can put up in an afternoon.”

ImageDeep said its AI already protects sites for Gammon Construction and PERI Group. Houndlight is available to order from the current production run through the company's website and is supported in the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia and Australia.

The company is also recruiting distribution partners.
